$200,000 / year profit in 20 hr / wk remotely (100% transparency so that anyone can replicate it)
Nobody on their deathbed thinks about the time they spent as an employee making progress on someone else’s dreams.
If they have any regrets, it’s always about not having prioritized their favorite relationships and personal passions.
Isn’t it bizarre how our culture expects that we each will work 40-80 hours/week until we’re old and frail?
That kind of life is not for me.
Most people I know dread their jobs each morning.
They are NOT living self-directed lives of exploration and creation.
But they feel stuck. They feel like “having it all” is not on the menu.
Sure, there are grandiose CEOs in the media with their private jets and multiple mansions.
But then these thoughts pop up:
A) “I’m not smart enough or well-connected enough to be able to achieve THAT.”
B) “It seems like they sacrificed their health or their relationships. That’s not the kind of role model I want.”
Are there any entrepreneurs who are well-rounded, relatable, and built their successful business from scratch while living the life that they ultimately wanted?
The only ones I can think of designed a life that I wouldn’t want.
So the time has come.
I will scrap together a collection of partial role models and design the life that I want, documenting my journey along the way.
Perhaps I will be the role model (to someone) that I wish were available to me years ago.
I’m going to:
work on what interests me and skip what doesn’t
limit my work time to no more than 20 hours per calendar week
publish daily what my thoughts are (and my revenue and expenses)
continue forever
give ~12 weeks notice to my day job once my business profit is consistent (which could be 5 years from now!)
I know I can do it. (I’ll explain my confidence later.)
I’m not sure how long it will take to achieve my profit goals.
Getting there within a year or two would be extraordinary, but I’ll still be excited even if it takes longer.
I don’t even know what product or service I’ll be offering yet.
It will definitely be messy and embarrassing, especially at the beginning.
But the costs of not starting to design this kind of life seem enormous.
Now, what books should I read and what entrepreneurs should I follow so that I can achieve my goals quickest?
Put your recommendations in the comments; I really appreciate them.
It’s go time. 🚀
