You used to think
(1 min read)
When you say “I used to think…”, it’s the most beautiful sound ever.
It means that:
🟢 You pay attention and incorporate new information
🟢 You learned and/or changed your opinion about something
🟢 You’re aware of that evolution
🟢 You’re willing to share that you’re a dynamic person, not worried about being called a “flip-flopper”.
Updating our minds is the only way we move forward.
There’s a misconception that inventors and other leaders receive a brilliant flash of insight and cry out “Eureka!” to declare “I’ve found it!”
What happens far more often is that something unexpected happens, and someone notices and says “Hey, wait a minute…”
If you’re perceptive and you’re open to paradigm shifts, you change.
You grow.
You are not the person you were.
You won’t be the person you are.
If you now reject past statements you’ve made…
If you admit when you were wrong...
If you release old ideas when they no longer seem right…
If you seek disagreement and others’ perspectives…
Or even if you’re embarrassed by your past behavior...
Congrats.
Cheers to you.
You’re not a first draft.
You’re also not a final draft.
You’re a work in progress.
May you always be.
And may you find yourself surrounded by similarly open-minded, curious, honest people.

🗨️ Quote of the day
You want a formula for wealth?
Trade your expectations for appreciation, and your entire life changes in that moment.
The lack of appreciation is the only thing that will make you truly poor.
